 Schools – Objectives
We want to encourage all schools to join us in our local community response to the reality of global warming. We are aware that climate change is taught in schools as part of the curriculum in several subjects and that schools also participate in related programs and events. However, we feel that offering some additional and complementary resources could not go astray.  Â
It is our aim to offer schools practical support in:
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Climate Change education
-        implementing some solutions in the school environment Â
-        making schools and students aware of CANWin’s activities in the community
Schools – What we can offer…Â
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Guest speakers
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Help with recycling / re-use systems in the school
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Global Warming workshops
 -         Presentations
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Mural project or art exhibition for studentsÂ
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Connecting with external organisations like Planet
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Help with a recycle / swap day
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Provide waratah seeds for a garden
-         Direct schools to eco-friendly products Â
The Schools Team has 9 members. Our group includes trained and training primary and secondary teachers and concerned parents and citizens with other significant qualifications and experience.  We will eventually operate as a resource group, facilitating activities and providing resources to complement curricular teaching on Climate Change.
