Our speaker, Dr Peter Stone, has worked in farm management, food industry consulting, grain marketing, and agricultural research. For much of the last 10 years, his research has focused on the use of contested land-based resources, “seeking to understand the intersection of a range of scientific, community and industry perspectives”.
Peter is Deputy Director of CSIRO’s Sustainable Agriculture Flagship and Director of GISERA, the Gas Industry Social and Environmental Research Alliance.
GISERA was founded by CSIRO and Australia Pacific LNG “to foster public good research into the social and environmental challenges and opportunities associated with Australia’s growing coal seam gas industry”. GISERA’s research focuses on water, land management, social and economic issues, biodiversity, and the marine environment.
